Principles of Space Travel for the Colonization of Mars
In general what is required is a single minded and simple approach to getting life from Earth to Mars. New inventions are not required this caould have done as an expedition in the early 1980's.
The bias will not be scientific but purely a permanent establishment on an economic and spiritual basis.
In order to get to Mars within the next few years while the International Space Station is still available and in the present economic climate certain views have to be established for the necessary financing and for the economics.
The first principle to be established is to look on the positive side of Traveling in space
Once in space there is of course no resistance to the traveling space ship therefore its shape and size are totally irrelevent. The aerodynamic shapes we see are totally for entering the atmosphere but for the journey from the ISS that is not a problem as Mars has a very thin atmosphere.
Once outside the orbit of Earth there is continuous bright an brilliant sunlight as a source of energy and for growing plants.
Water now seems to be abundant in the Solar system and will only be required for the journey and the initial stages of Colonisation.
NewSpaceShip has set out a modular construction of space ships that can be restructured while in space.
The complete modularisation of the space ship will allow for a complete simplification of the structure - as the whole principle of the journey is get life from Earth to Mars it will only be concerned with that and the types of modules required will be limited to 5.
1) the Living Module
2) the Plant and Animal Life modules
3) The maintenance modules - containing elemts for the construction of new modules
4) the propulsion and landing modules
5) Storage Modules
The assembly of the complete fleet
To raise the money for this operation it has to be commercial - it has to have a reward and that will be the Ownership of parts of Mars so that every investor through EarthSpaceAgency will have a return on success.
