The lack of finances – (the economy) has caused the cancellation of the planned trip to Mars. In the same way the availability of finances can promote another agency.
Just as finances are responsible for the cancellation of one program it can be the basis of another – in other words it is not a question of scientific development but a question of motivation.
By the time new technology is developed and tested, manned flight to Mars could be there and back 10 times
This is the aim of the Earth SpaceAgency. Mankind could have made the journey to Mars with a development of the Apollo program in the 1980’s.
Since then there has been a limited development of the technology of Space Travel and that could be the case for some time.
To say that it is not possible to replicate the past technology.
Simple refinement of known technology will be sufficient – al that is required is the ambition and bravery to make the trips to the planets.
Nasa has failed to convince the US government of the importance of human space travel - but at stake is the colonization and essential ownership. The concept of the ESA is to provide an agency for all countries on this planet through their funding of the journeys to gain a partial ownership relative to their contribution. This is a financial operation to be based in London.
The difference between Nasa and Esa is that Nasa has a multitude of academics and scientists always looking for ways to prolong their attempts at innovation – the failure of Orion was that Obama did not see a specific goal, Esa only consists of technology and economics that is available now.
